Fantasy Pit Falls

There is a dangerous game some people play with their children.

It is a make-believe world of puppets, costume, sexting, internet chatting, role-playing games, fantasy leagues and other such personality-splitting behaviors.

I have witnessed firsthand, parents encouraging their children to create alter-egos and separate identities. Blurring the lines between reality and imagination with the unfortunate result of eradicating guilt of wrongdoing or any sense of impropriety or fear when playtime crosses over into the realm of a sexual fantasy being played out.

We adults, being the more mature individuals, need to be the voice of reason, recognize it for what it is and put an early end to the psychologically damaging effects of fracturing the human ego and creating environments ripe for abuse.

Teach your children to be themselves. To be happy being themselves. Show them that you love them for who they are and let others be drawn to their own natural light.

Honestly, fantasy-land in general needs to get an overhaul if we're going to be happy and healthy generations from now.
